Sweet Buttermilk Cornbread

I know that cornbread isn’t actually a cake – but I really did want to share this with you.

This past fall, my son’s teacher made us some chili and cornbread.  I’ve been dreaming about baking cornbread ever since.  She had made a Mexican version with jalapenos that was outstanding. Last week, while my mother-in-law and her sister were visiting, I thought it would be a nice treat to make.  I found a recipe on Allrecipes.com that was DELICIOUS!  In fact, it was so good that I was asked to make another batch for dinner the following night.

There’s something not to be missed about a recipe that starts off by having you melt an entire stick of butter in a skillet!

I choose a Sweet Buttermilk Cornbread and I’m so happy that I did.  I highly recommend this recipe!

  2. This was absolutely delicious!! And yes, we did ask her to make this two nights. And to top it off, we ate the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. We toasted the pieces in the toaster oven and then added just a bit more butter! My mouth is watering for this treat again!! Great job, Robin!! Love you, Mom

  3. great site you got going. I think you should test out one of those Chocolate caramel sea salt cakes. Then I can look at your creation and dream about eating it. We are still scheduled to depart NL in March. Selling all our crap now. I added your feed to my igoogle home page so I can keep an Eye on all your cakes.
